You can take the big plug on the front of the steering gear out. Then you can turn the shaft and screw the worm gear out toward the front. You may have to take the steering wheel support out to get the shaft to go forward far enough. If you are going to replace the steering wheel shaft seal, you will have to pull the steering wheel off the shaft, or take the worm gear off. I never took off a worm gear so don't know how to do that. You will have to have a puller to get the steering wheel off. There is no adjustment that I know of on the pitman shaft. Sometimes the nut that holds the pitman on gets loose, making play there. You can try tightening the big nut under the bottom that holds it on.
