The 86 series tractors have there faults. The doors open backwards, shifting isn't the best, ect, but after working for many years for a case IH dealer the thought of having to work on a case power shift makes me a bit ill! There isn't a piece in the IH transmission, TA, or rear end that you cant get from case IH or aftermarket, unlike the case powershift that many parts have been discontinued. In my opinion case had a great engine with the 504 but everything behind it spoiled there tractors. 400 series IH engines are the small block chevy of diesels, parts are everywhere new and used. I myself have two 1086's a 1066 and a 1070. The 1070 hasent been out of the shed in years. Im sure many will disagree but that's my thoughts. GO RED!
