You do not need to remove the cap with four bolts on top of the front end casting. If you unscrew the large pipe cap on the front of the steering gear box and remove the bolt in the u joint you can turn the worm gear shaft right out the front of the gearbox. You will also have to remove the half moon key at the U joint end once you have turned the shaft far enough forward to be able to get at it. Zach
