I am finishing up the "restoration" of this old planter. Restoring to full use, that is. The drive augers on the dry fertilizer have a square shaft that runs the full width of the planter and extends outside the 1st and 4th boxes on either side (this is an 8 row, 32" planter with 4 dry boxes). Does this square shaft then go into some type of bracket on the frame? Mine has no brackets and the shaft and augers slide left and right thru the boxes like they need some type of end support. Hope this is not too confusing. There are bolt holes in the frame on either end like brackets would go there....but no bracket.
