well, when I mow with my 1250 cub cadet I open er' up and slow the hydro. Better cut. for a while I slowed throttle and went a little faster. worse cut, but quicker and uses less gas ! doing that I could not even use a gallon of gas, and that's with driving 3/4 mile each way and mow 2 3/4 acre lawns ! also mowed had a 122 cadet and I usually mowed 2nd, 1st too slow unless going through heavy stuff.
