I have a 1954 Farmall Super C tractor with charging troubles. About 6 years ago it stopped charging, but I continued to run it since it has a magneto and I could easily hand crank it. I went through a procedure to determine that it was a regulator problem, so I replaced that. But it didn"t last very long. So I rewired the whole tractor since some of the wiring had been chewed by mice in the barn. And I got it to charge again with the new regulator and new wiring. But that didn"t last very long and the regulator is bad again. What could be causing the problem? Its one of the cheap regulators from Orscheln, foreign made. Can these regulators be taken apart and checked internally? Adjusted?
