My Dad's had this happen several times. Once to his own '51 M and once to a guy with a '52 Super M He sold him. New fresh A-C's and they won't run. He took 2 yr. old D-15Y's I took out of my Super H after 250 hrs and his M ran O-K, Not good, Wouldn't run at all on A/C's. Parts guy at Empire Equip. in Geneseo IL told Dad that probably 10 yr ago. Said They had a box full of new A/C's in the shop out of old M's, 400, 450, 560's 656's 70/806's. I only run my Super H about 10 to 20 hr. a year. It had new plugs about 5 yr. ago. Starts right up to push snow! I may try NGK's in place of Champions next time. The New Champions may not be as good as the old ones. I used to deliver stuff to their plant in BURLINGTON IA. when I drove truck.

On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
