It can be taken out using several methods. with it off, it could be EDMed out with a plunge EDM (good machine shop). If the hole is a through hole, the tap can be blown out of the hole with an Oxy-acetylene cutting torch, or plasma torch. A quality cold chisel can often be used to break up the tap if there is some sticking out. there are also broken tap removal tools with stiff probes that fit into the flutes of straight fluted taps that can be used. This can involve heating the housing and chilling the tap to create a thermal looseness. Jim
