AV Curiosity Question

In the AV line, did they have hydraulics? I saw one with an extra small gas tank with the fuel line leading over to the fuel bowl and asked him if that tank started it with gas and if the other tank was for kerosene. He said "don't you see the spark plugs? It can't run on anything but gas." I thought some tractors did that, but have never seen one. Even thought I know I am ignorant, I felt stupid then. Would someone please enlighten me on this subject? Thanks.
