Not too sure on the New Idea. I have a McCormick-Deering GL-25-VO, which is the same as a 25V. It has a knob on the pitman where it is attached to the knife head, which keeps it from falling down when the cutter bar is vertical. I have never put all my faith in it and always use a length of baler twine round the pitman and tied off at the cutter bar support to be quite certain the knife cannot slip. It is almost zero cost insurance and could save a knife and pitman.
