I have a 1940 DS30. The Vin Number is on the side of the engine housing area, under the left side Hood, (nead the driver"s door hinge) The same plate that lists the model, year, weights etc. Mine only has a 4 digit vin number. Wasn"t a problem in MT, but it did throw off their computer for a bit.
