756 german diesel (310). The oil pan at the rear of the engine has 2 small rubber wedges to insure against leakage. The left side,(if a car, it would be the drivers side), refuses to seal. It leaks fast enough that it drips a drop every 5 seconds at idle. I've used the best silicone base sealant available, and this last time I used permatex #2. Still leaks. Upon close inspection, there doesn't appear to be any cracks in the pan. Does this engine have side seals on the rear main bearing housing, or does the rear seal serve as the sealing body for that? I must have rebuilt 2 dozen of these 310's in the last 25 years, but this one is giving me fits.
