As a precaution, scribe yourself a witness line or mark before you move the distributor. Otherwise you may be back to the forum asking questions as to why won't it start or my starter turns too slow, etc. You probably will see some improvement once you change the timing. Realize, the factory setting was for a new engine and over the years some things have changed and the ideal setting is where this tractor runs best. Good luck.
