I would use the zenith provided it is the correct replacement carburetor. I feel they do a better job of metering the fuel throughout the entire operating speeds and loads than a Marvel Schebler ever did. I'm talking about new carburetors now, tractors right from the factory, not old worn out ones.
As far as the electric shut off, your new carb should be able to idle that engine down nice and slow for shut down without dieseling.
