H rod is slightly narrower than the 17, which is no problem, when they grind the crank they will match up the rods with the journal. H rods are 8in, have seen some at 7.95 but them were not bored right from day one. you have 2 bearing inserts available to fit the h rod. the H, at 2.249 and the 350 which uses a larger diameter journal, but i dont have that exact spec in front of me. depending on what piston you use, in my case, dodge pistons, they use a 1.09 pin, ive reamed the dodge pistons to use H pins and install keeper locks in the pistons. shoot me an email, we have talked before. thanks.
