Dave G: Thank you for your comments. I did experience Bendix slam as I said in my post, I had the "H" starter rewound for 12V. I will have the one on the "A" rewound first time it destroyes a bendix. After requlating the 6V gen to 12V, both systems are charging at 13.46 to 14.92 according to need. I am not RPM counter equipped, but the coming in speed after modification seems to be about the same as it was for the 6V. Most any time I am using the tractors they are operating in govering range. One has the same problem with the starter reguardless of the 12V source.
