This is the way I repaired mine with no problems yet (8 years). First I ground off all the brass and weld that someone else had tried to repair it with. Then I sandblasted the area. I used a compound that I got from Detroit Ball Bearing that was called Titanium Epoxy. It went on very easily and with a wetted finger I was able to make it very smooth. I then sanded it to sort of finish it out. Then I lightly sandblasted it to give it that cast iron look. After painting it you could hardly tell that it had been repaired. I mowed lawn with it for 7 years until switching to a Super A. Good Luck. Ed.
