this is not uncommon if you were to remove the sleeves you would find probably half gallon of junk at the bottom of the sleeves you can split the engine off the bellhousing take off radiator and rear frost plug bet 100 bucks you will find junk to no end the water passages in this area will be full of junk easiest way is put on a water pump dont need to change rad just a longer belt to run the pump this will help and probably fix problem had a BN that ran that way split and removed the frost plug and front lower outlet got gobs of junk and cured the problem just tore a B block down this week to overhaul and was unreal the junk I FOUND AFTER THE SLEEVES WERE REMOVED have been around these for many years find these things out when I overhaul them tele is 319 683 2859 be glad to help in any way
