I suppose that if the pulley gearbox was frozen and the gear slid on the shaft and meshed with the input shaft gear it could lock up the transmission. I don't know why it would suddenly mesh when it hadn't before, but it is certainly possible. If you pull the belt pulley drive unit you can see the front end of the shift rails and much of the internal parts of the transmission. There are four short bolts and two long bolts that hold the unit down, after that you just have to wiggle it loose and remove it. Zach
