Moll, I was the one that made the original post, and I am NOT surprised at the price. I know how rare they are, and I also know how prices go up for rare things. I was a little surprised about the one post where it was up to $36k, and then the seller ended it.
I have paid premium price for certain rare things, and I didn't whine one bit about it..............because no one held a gun to my head to do it. It was my decision, and I spent the money knowing what I was doing.
I am NOT rich by any stretch, but I am at a point in my life that I have a bit of play money to use. Like I posted before, anything is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I hope he gets his price, but he also should be aware he may never get it. so, if I wanted $39k for something, and someone bid $36k, I would probably gulp hard and take it. Each person has to make their own decisions. Better to lose $3k, than the $36k he possibly could have gotten. My opinion.

On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
