They're real simple to work on. Unscrew the pedal linkage from the front. Remove 5 (or 6?) bolts from the drum. Remove the drum. Everything else hangs on the pinion shaft under the drum. Brake disk, actuator, brake disk.
If the brakes are just weak, all it probably needs is just a good cleaning and new disks. IMHO, no lube period, but some people recommend a little graphite on the balls.
