There could be issues with the engine. Assuming the starter cranked the engine to begin with and nothing changed in the starting system, meaning the same battery same cables and same starter switch, the fact of new rings should make little difference in cranking speed. If the cables are Ogauge or )) gauge, and the battery is solid and charged, it should crank well. I will assume you make the starting components "good". Rings if not gapped can cause dramatic drag. The ring gap should be about .006" to .007" per inch of cylinder bore. If tighter than this it can and will cause seizure of the engine. If the ring gap is correct (and not guessed at) I would pull start it and let it get broken in a bit before getting worried. If it stops after 20 seconds of pull starting, I would begin to think about the rings. I also assume you used liberal engine oil on the piston/rings and sleeves when installing the pistons. Jim
