A good sound 806-856 will start WAY down below freezing when everything is wright . Many years back i bought a 806 fixer upper that i think the only thing it did not need was a radiator cap . I latterly had every nut and bolt out of that tractor from ft. to back , repaired rebuilt everything . When we did the engine it was a Major major deal on it as we lined bored it decked the block cut contour bores center linebored the block to take .010 sleeves installed all new valve seats and set valve heights to dead on spec.s did the injectors and the injection pump . We ended up with somuch in it we were almost hung with that tractor . Till Jan . of 78 and if i remember correctly it was Jan.28 just after the blizzard temps were wright around -20 or so a guy showes up at the shop as he heard that we had a super nice 806 for sale . The tractor was about four or five hundred feet from the shop in a three sided shed been setting there since first of Nov. when last used . We had to walk down thru four and five foot snow drifts to get to it as this guy wanted to see if it would start . Pulled the throttle about half way and pushed the button , she turned a little hard but to all of our surprise it started with no either at all and yes he did buy it for what we were asking and we spent the next couple hours getting to it and the trailer to haul it to him . When someone hands ya nice crisp green folding money of just short of 9 grand ya sorta do what ya have to . Over the years he became a good customer . Always like his way of paying CASH .
