The problem for IHC was a law suit from a farmer fueling up a hot 756 gas tractor that still had about 1/2 a tank of gas. The vent was plugged and when the farmer pulled the gas cap a mixure of gas vapor & raw gas flew up out of the tank & was ignited by his cigarette. 756's had the tall triple baffle cap on them as opposed to most of the early letter series with their short single baffle caps. Most later Letter Series and all the Numbered series had triple baffle caps. The Newer safety caps had a second pair of ears that kept the cap from twisting a quarter turn and lifting straight up. This caused any vapors to vent downward if the vent was plugged. Dad & I got 3 caps from the program in the 80's. None of them fit! We had to take the second pair of ears off. The older tractors, Letter series esp. should not be a safety hazard. The 756 gas had a tank that extended about 1/2 the length of the engine that soaked up lots of engine heat. The 300/400 and 350/450's should be O-K too. 460/560's had the tank over the engine too I believe.
