I got bored and took my Super C distributor apart over the weekend. I was reading the lubrication manual and it says to remove the screws in the distributor and the gear housing. Then install grease zerks and grease until grease comes out the holes on the back side. First of all, there are no holes on the backside of either one. It looks like when the gear housing fills up, it bleeds over into the crankcase. I am not very keen on that. I don't see where the distributor grease goes when it is greased. The parts book and manual shows the sleeve on the inside of the distributor running the full length of the inside. How does the grease get into the inside to lubricate the shaft? If the sleeve is oilite bronze, then oil in the hole would make sense. The shaft fit and advance weights are all fine. I need some ideas on the lubrication. Thanks for your time.
