When we have trouble blowing O-rings we go to Teflon rings. The Teflon rings were used for good reasons. Can't reuse them with much success though as they crush into shape so once parts are put together and for any reason taken back apart they need to be replaced whereas a new o-ring will retain it's durability if just put together and taken back apart for some reason it could be reused.
