An M uses a lot if fuel but not THAT much. If you have a good stream you should be fine as far as supply. Did you try pulling the choke a bit and see if it helped? If it helps then you have a fuel problem. Depending on the job I have had to adjust the main screw on mine as it fell short under heavy load. Did you try that?
When I start my M with the fuel shut off I can get across the barnyard before it dies. It isn't slurping it up faster than it will drain through your line unless there is something else up. Is there a vacuum? Is your cap venting properly?
