The diagram shown in the link is for your tractor. It is correct. The wiring of your new amp gauge is on the wrong terminals. Wire it like the diagram, then if it still shows charge when it is not running and the lights are turned on, take the wires from the right terminal on the amp gauge and swap them with those on the left. No other mods are needed. To polarize the generator (assuming positive ground, but either way is OK as long as the coil to distributor wire attaches to the coil small terminal with the same polarity as the battery) With all things hooked up and the key off, touch a jumper between the Bat terminal on the regulator to the Gen (or arm) terminal on the regulator. this shoots a polarity charge into the generator magnitizing the field poles.
