I'm sure that you will get lots of comments about how to do a TA job. This is how I would do the job. I just lift the front of the fuel tank and hold it up while I remove the TA housing. I always figure about 15 hours to do a complete TA job. As far as cost of parts, it all depends on what needs replacing. I usually replace the ramp and carrier with a HD sprag unit for about $350. It takes a little time to move the small plant gears & parts from the old carrier to the new one. Hy Capacity also sells a complete TA assembly. It all depends on what is needed and what your skill level is, or who you know that could help you when you get stuck.
Speaking of getting stuck, I need to start cleaning my driveway. Southern Minnesota received a lot of heavy wet snow yesterday afternoon and evening. It looks like there are a few drifts that are over 4 ft high. I think the Cub Cadet will get a good workout. Stay warm
