Mark, IH had a lot of factories both in the United States and over seas. The main tractor factory was the Farmall Works at Rock Island, IL. Tractors were also made at Louisville, KY, and large tractors at Stockton, CA. Combines were made at East Moline, IL, Cotton Pickers were made at Mempthis, TN. A few other locations were; Chicago, IL, Canton, IL, Milwaukee, WI, Akron, OH, plus they used to have Wisconsin Steel Company in South Chicago. All of these factories made other things than just the mentioned and just start the list. This list is by no means complete and some of these listed were closed before the end. Experimental machines and protype machines were field tested in many areas in order to test them for all types of conditions. In the Mississippi Delta they almost always had some type of experimental or protype or pre-production machine undergoing field testing. The last exprimental machine that that I am famaliar with that was tested at our location was the early prototype and late pre-production type for the axel-flow combine in the 70's. Harold H
