A 1953 Super A should be a C113. Both engines (113&123) have the same casting number on the block after early '51, I believe. I do not remember the serial number the change was made. If your motor was ever rebuilt, chances are the larger sleeves and pistons were added bumping it up to a 123. Impossible to tell without measuring the bores. A factory 123 will have a water pump. The C123 was used on the Super A-1 starting in 1954.
