Over here in The UK just before Christmas we were warned by some forecasters that one of the worst ever winters was on the cards, Deep deep snow, temps down to - 20 centigrade, real scary stuff. As I write this ( 26th February )I can report that we have had one of the mildest... if at times rather wet and windy... winters that I have ever known and in fact here in South Yorkshire at any rate, we have not had one single snowflake. Those in the southern end of the country have had some terrible floods though.
