As stated the engine is the big difference.the 1256 is the 407 dry sleeve very very good engine but probably 2 times more expensive to overhaul and they are almost impossible to find at wreckers.The 1066 is a 414 wet sleeve engine, good engine but prone to cavitation erosion but are reasonable to rebuild and wrecking yards are full of combines with engines just waiting to be transplanted into tractors.Don"t forget to give the ta a good test as well or you will add another $4000 to your tractor.
