not sure offhand if a "12" will fit. you might be able to learn something on the caseih parts webpage. but it should be all the same from a 706, 756, 806, 826, 856.
it also wouldn't surprise me if a 766 and 966 have an interchangeable rear cover.
those are all category 2 tractors, once you get to the next bigger in each series you're into a cat 3.
that being said, does your tractor have the rockshaft with the splines sticking out from tail end of the rear cover? if the shaft is there, or if there are removable plugs to install a shaft, you could probably put all the pieces together on your cover.
either way, if you find a salvage assembly, make sure to take it all apart and replace all o rings and seals. the rear cover being off the tractor is also the time to think about changing the clutch pedal pivot shaft if it is worn.
