Okay, correction on my part: I went out and looked at mine, and this is what I found out: It was manufactured in 1951, by a company called "BD Farm Equipment Co." out of Leland, Mississippi, and it is not factory apparently, as it doesn't have a place for a gauge--instead it has a device that gives a direct indication of how near full it is, kind of hard to describe but it works, apparently.
