Random numbers constantly changing on the data center is normally an open circuit. The wire to the sender may broken some where along the line or sender itself open or even poor connection right at the sender. If other functions are ok I would say that is the problem. If other functions are erratic also, you might pull the little push in module behind data center and clean the contacts with the eraser on a pencil.
