Should be a two stage clutch. What can happen if a tractor sits a lot (especially in a damp climate) is the clutch disc sticks to either the pressure plate or the flywheel. I've had it happen on the main clutch on a 414 before. Sometimes they can be unstuck without splitting the tractor. You need to get a good load on it and hold the clutch pedal disengaged (for a PTO clutch I'd want it on a dyno). I'd also make sure the adjustment was okay first.
It sounds like a great tractor with that few hours on it it'd be hard to beat even if you have to pay full price. It'd go for more than that near me. I much prefer the diesel engine in those. Good luck, Sam
