Pipe Taps

Recently there has been mention for the need to clean pipe size threads in exhaust manifolds. Good suggestions have been offered for ways to do this without a tap. For those who insist on a tap, the best prices I have found are at Kitts Tools 1-800-521-6579. 2" taps are $29.95 and 1" taps are $8.95. The taps are carbon steel which is better suited for cleaning existing threads than for cutting new ones. High Speed Steel taps which are better for cutting new threads cost considerably more. Shipping and handling are extra. They also have a set of left hand drill bits.
