Don't know between those two types as I'm not familair with the duo-grip. I have a set of chains for a JD430 that are just cross bars with no rings between. They are ok if you don't need a lot of help but not near as good as the double ring type since the cross bars tend to pull in around the tire lugs. i would agree with the post below that if you use them on the road the double rings will wear out fast.
