Not a flame! We answered you over on the tractor talk forum. This is basically the same answer you got there. You had a stuck valve that prevented the pushrod and rocker from moving to the open position. Because the pushrod is often the weakest link, and because it must give somewhere, the pushrod bent. If it had not bent, it would have broken some other part of the valve train. Be thankful. The stuck valve was probably caused by lack of lubrication from sitting for a long period of time without running. Putting penetrating oil under the valve spring where the valve stem goes into the guide will likely keep it happy. Either get a new pushrod, or straighen the old one to make it go. Set the valves either way. If you do not know how, a service manual will provide the steps. A bent pushrod is a simple fix with little expanse. If you are in doubt whether the valve is unstuck, use a prybar or other tool to compress the valve and assure it is free. Do not push it farther than the pushrod would push it or it could stick open.
