The old recomendation was 160 weight, more or less the same as the old 600W (not weight) called for in car rear ends up thru the 30"s. If you use 90 weight , plan on it marking its territory. Modern gear oil is not designed to work the same as the old sticky stuff was in the high pressures experienced between the teeth of straight cut gears. The modern oils will function fine for a long long time given the limited use of these old tractors but they will leak easier and you"ll notice alot more gear noise. The old grades of oil are still available but can be hard to find. Do not use hytrans oil.
