If the road is lower than the sides that is your problem. Even if you got the middle smooth it is never going to be right till the sides are brought in. We had neighbors who used a gravel road across our land for their timber sale, the loggers were supposed to repair it when they were done. The sides were several inches higher than the middle in a lot of places when they were done and a lot of the gravel was in the ditches. All they did was run a dozer down the road and back out once, so it made the middle of the road flat. When it rained it was like a canal. I rented a box blade and spent two days backing down into the ditch, dropping the blade and pulling the gravel back into the road. I was pretty unhappy at the time but now it is a lot better and can actually be used as a road again. Zach
