You can't test that resistor/indicator unless the four other glow plugs are all hooked up in series with it. The glow plug system and resistor only operates at 1 to 2 volts. You can't feed 12 volts into it without ruining it.
You might want to upgrade to 12 volt glow plugs instead of the original 1 volt glow plugs. They work much faster and are much more durable. Bosch makes them for Mercedes 190D cars that originally used the exact same plugs as the B275. Wire in the new ones in parallel instead of in series and eliminate the glow/indicator/resistor in the dash.
