Tom, I'm in Upstate NY, 20 and below all last weeks, all of my 6 volt tractors start fine. If everything is snuffed up; battery, terminals, timing, fuel, carb, cap, points...they'll start fine. If not something needs tuned, 12 volys will cover this for a while, but sooner of later you'll end up with a tractor that spins over faster, but still doesn't like to start. Alot less work to tune up than switch over and then tune up. We do run an 8volt battery in our Super M's after an engine rebuild, this only requires an adjustment to the regulator, and everything looks original. Pete
