Hal, Absolutely no reason why the 211 plow won`t work on a 240. I pulled my 2-14" 211 behind my Farmall 240 and it works just fine. Wouldn`t want to have 16" bottoms on it though, the 14`s make her snort enough. My Farmall 340 pulls my 2-16" 211 and is a good match in our heavy clay. By the way, 240`s didn`t come from the factory with small point sockets, at least in the parts books there aren`t multiple part numbers for large or small sockets in the 240 section. The sockets from a 230 will fit right on a 240 fast hitch bail. It`s not out of the realm of possibility that a customer could have special ordered a 240 to come with small sockets if the farmer had all small point implements already. Or a dealer could have swapped sockets at the dealership too.
