No thats not how they look the opening at the rear doesent look like any i have seen in the last many yrs. It is part of the tranny case and there is two bosses for attachments to fasten usually levers for the exhaust lift levers on the cultivator. Check the cast code on other parts of the tractor as it must have been a very early one or something out of the ordinary.
