Sure looks like a W-6 or I-6 to me also. Never seen a M without adjustable rear axles and the front end linkage.
Looking closely at the data plate picture, it could be that the plate was added after painting. The rivets look new to me but I could be wrong. There is also red paint on the lower right edge.
Might have to look at a casting code to see if it matches up to the year of the data plate serial number.
I'm almost 100% positive that isn't a M. A pic of the front end and from the rear would help.
