Couple more prices for you. I bought a '49 Farmall C in reasonable shape, smoked quite a bit for $800. Bought a '40 A that ran poorly (needed valve job and carb work) but otherwise good for $900. California tractors, 9 to 18 months ago. The motor s/n will usually get you in the ballpark with regard to year of purchase. Casting codes will help too.
