All,
Was running an IH 55 chisel 15 shank 3pt hitch today on a JD 4430. The front row of sweeps were running fairly deep and on the gauge wheel. Gauge wheel is more near the front. I wanted the other two rows of sweeps to run similarly in depth, but they were shallower. So I attempted to level plow by using top link adjustment. It did put the back in further, but the front row then seemed to be higher and it was not running on the gauge wheel as before (gauge wheel was staying in air). Do not have a manual on setting up this plow, so I tried adjusting the lower link arms lower and it may have helped some, but I never did get all three rows of sweeps in deep and on gauge wheel as desired. QUESTION: Should I have adjusted the lower links further down and kept the plow essentially flat?

Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
