Hey Mike, I took my dads 1950 C out that we just finished for a 5 mile run to the closest gas station Christmas day. It was snowing like crazy and about 10 above 0. It was late and no one was out so I kicked on the lights and just loved it. That old metal seat was cold though. OK now to the point, when I got back I felt the block and it was as cool as could be,it does not have a water pump or thermostat.Felt the radiator and same thing, and then to show my superior intelect I reached up and touched the exhaust pipe.Duhhhhhhhh! It burned on contact right through my glove and smoked my hand. The tractor ran fine but did not get hot enough to even warm the block. The pipe was plenty hot. Your gauge may be fine it might need a thermostat or it may just be to dang cold to get it very warm.Maybe the oil gauge is sticking cause of cold also. This may be of no help to you other than to prove not everyone on this board is smart. One pink hand, one red hand.
